kayla tausch is in atlantic city. what's the latest there. >> reporter: hey, scott, we forged our way north to atlantic city be a an hour ago making our way on garden state parkway only with a police escort. the water had a lot of debris on it, still very much flooded. one of the things we noticed is the quintessential billboards that greet you on the way in. most of those were stripped off. the first thing we wanted to see was the boardwalk. we saw all day yesterday the visuals of the boardwalk detaching and floating out into the city. went to the north end of the island. there was a lesser developed part of the boardwalk that disintegrated and detached, and the boardwalk that we all know that is attached to most of the major businesses here in atlantic city is still intact, and can you see we're standing on it right now. throughout our state, even in just the last hour, road lights came back on, so there is some power that is coming back, now, we made our way up to the boardwalk, tried to walk by a bunch of casinos.
